About
Our School

The challenges of today require problem-solvers to bring different perspectives and people willing to take risks. Performing heARTS emerged as a way to give children and adolescents something to look forward to during difficult times. Founder, Jordyn Brandman, 10th grader at Roslyn High School, has firsthand experiences working with children with special needs. Combining her desire to help others with her passion for musical theater were the driving forces behind performing- heARTS creation. There are two goals here at performing-heARTS;  to communicate the importance of art/musical theater to children and adolescents with special needs and to allow for students to take on leadership roles in this organization. From singing to dancing to acting to art, students will have the opportunity to assist special needs children, and help them understand why musical theater brings joy to so many people's lives.  Students will take on leadership roles in this project and help not only plan programs, but arrange fundraisers in which 100% of proceeds will go to non-profit organizations.
